What is the Society for Underwater Technology?

This multi-disciplinary learned society brings together organizations and individuals with a common interests and underwater technology ocean science and offshore engineering the SUT was founded in 1966 and has members from more than 30 countries including engineers scientists other professionals and students working in these areas.

SUT aims . . .

The SUT was founded to promote the further understanding of the underwater environment and to encourage cross fertilization and dissemination of ideas, experience and information between workers in academic research, applied research and technology, industry and government development of techniques and tools to explore and study oceans, proper economic and sociological use of our resources in and beneath the oceans, further education of scientists and technologists to maintain high standards in marine science and technology.

Who are our Corporate Members?

More than 100 industrial and commercial organizations, research establishments, government agencies and academic institutions reflect their interest in underwater technology, ocean science and engineering by becoming Corporate Members of the Society. The SUT offers communication and specialist information focused on events, publications and special interest groups. A Corporate organization can involve its key employees in any of these activities and enjoy all the benefits. The SUT has over 200 Corporate Members.

Mailings are sent to between 6 and 15 members of your organization, depending on its size.
 
SUT Members Directory in the Society's Yearbook lists both individual and corporate members for maximum information access to other members. An extensive program of events include conferences, speaker luncheons, seminars, and forums for discussion, technical visits, workshops and courses. These events have broad international appeal and provide detailed professional and technical treatment of their subjects. The program is designed to fulfill the requirements of a diverse membership.

Terms of participation in SUT: Named members only will receive SUT literature, there is no limit to the numbers of staff who can enjoy the corporate benefits of discounts and participation in SUT activities. However, only one SUT Representative is the main point of contact for membership administration purposes.
